The wind whipped Junichi's hair back, his haphazard ponytail miraculously holding strong, and gloved hands grabbed hold of a thick branch. The boy gasped and smiled, relieved by its sturdiness, before letting out a quiet grunt and heaving his upper body up and over the branch only to continue in an arc until he hooked his calves around the impromptu support beam. Taking deep breaths to slow his heart, Junichi took a moment to survey the area from a new perspective; namely, of the upside-down variety. He let his arms swing freely, forming a right angle with the ground, and watched the scene for a moment. The trees acting as a horizon line, but reversed with the sky, caused him a moment of quiet contemplation. Unfortunately, this position inevitably ended in the result of blood rushing to his head. With as much grace as he could manage, the boy hoisted himself up to sit on the branch before moving swiftly to his feet. He balanced himself with practiced ease, stepping as close to the end of the branch as was within good reason, and leapt a short distance onto the next furthest-reaching branch on another tree. Junichi let out a breath of laughter, arms spread out on either side of his body to ensure he didn't fall and break something vital. Inwardly thanking himself for double knotting his boots this morning, the blonde began his journey, placing one foot in front of the other and bodily swinging himself if a gap was too large. This was, as far as his usual stunts go, somewhat boring, if only because of its monotony. But doing laps, if one wanted to call it that, around the park at least held off boredom for a short while. Besides, while there were a few secluded spots within Central Park, it was also Central Park and dodging cops (or just the average old ass yelling at him to quit acting like a monkey) definitely made it kind of worth it. Aquamarine eyes scrolled upwards, and caught sight of a branch on a nearby tree, albeit several feet above Junichi's head. And, because of his excellent lack of foresight, the blonde made a running start and leapt, his arms barely closing around the tree's limb. Unfortunately, not a moment after he sighed with relief did Jun hear (and oh god did he feel) the absolutely unfair "crack" of a tree branch snapping, followed by a split second of blurred vision, an undignified yelp, and finally an aching backside. Groaning, the boy shoved the branch away from himself. He mentally checked his body, moving each section carefully, an old pro from a lifetime of practice, and quickly deduced no broken bones. Of course that didn't mean he was without injury, but he'd had much worse. Junichi moved to sit up and tensed, one hand moving to rub at the small of his back. "Jesus," he hissed, wincing. Maybe not much worse, but worse. template made by BTN of BTN! |
